9/10

It was a bit shaky start to the Paris trip. Without knowing why, 3 of our 4 visa cards had stopped working the last couple of days. And believe it or not, at the airport in Oslo, 10 minutes before boarding, the last one also collapsed…We had to go to Paris without no cash or visa..just 50 nkr..

We tried to get some money withdrawn on the plane, but they couldn`t help us. We did get two bottles of water though. Thanks to Tun`s new card with a chip we did get cash at Orly. It got VERY expensive but what a relief that was. We got to the hotel Tim and the sun was shining!!!!

Tuesday was the first Maiden show for us on this tour. I had been looking forward for it a loooooong time.
We headed for the Eiffel Tower where a a photo for of IMOC members was agreed to take place. But first we wanted to go to the top of this majestic and old tower. It was really one of the many sights i wanted to do. We stood in line in 3 hours to get up!! It was worth the wait I thought..

Then I met other members from the board and had the group photo taken. There were fans from all over the world present

Then we went to the arena at the other side of the city. It was apparent that the metro in Paris is nowhere as user friendly as the London tube…maybe we`re stupied?? We got to the venue and the site was already crammed with Maiden fans. We sat at one of the tables outside, and it was about 34 degrees. We had beer and food and tried to have conversation with some french boys. But they could not understand english at all. They were about 20 so we thought it was a bit odd and funny!!
I also said hello to Steve and Cadds from ICT Travel. The first I met at Bruce Air to Iceland.
There were Maiden music all over the place, a bit like Gothenburg and Norway in that sense. In other countries you don`t tend to get playded Maiden even if it`s a pub just close to the venue.
Later we talked to 2 nice fans from Belgium for over 2 hours. They was driving home stright after the show!! Cheers to you if you read this. They even bought us beer even the one wasn`t drinking himself.
We entered the standing side of Bercy and inside we met DTT, The Beast, Johnta and the SteveHunter!!!! Great to see you again. And Aphillis from Australia who I`ve never seen before. we had a great time.

The crowd inside seemed very up for it that night. We were standing quite far back, but the atmosphere was electric there also. The light went off and Doctor doctor and Transylvania fired off the show. It was great!!! I thought it was my best show up to date there and then. Bercy rocked!! Maybe the best crowd I`ve seen so far. Highlight of the night was Powerslave. Sheer power. What could the next night offer after this???

At the soundboard we said hello to Laz from the fanclub and his wife?? and Rod Smallwood and the always smiling and kind head of sound, Doug Hall. He always drops the cables and equipment in his hands to talk to fans. Great man!!!
